Dashboards and your BI tool
Use the template dashboards, build your own in Analytics Studio, or read the same data in Power BI, Tableau or Excel.
Template dashboards
Every organization gets 11: Executive overview, Cost explorer, Allocation and showback, Kubernetes, AI and tokens, Budgets and forecast, Anomalies, Commitments, Optimization and savings, Unit economics, and Tagging hygiene. Pin the ones you use to the navigation.
Analytics Studio
- Open it from the app with single sign-on.
- Build charts and dashboards on certified datasets, where every metric has one definition.
- Publish a dashboard to embed it in the app. Each viewer sees only the rows their scope allows.
- SQL Lab is off until an admin turns it on for your organization.
Bring your own BI
Settings > Connect BI tool shows your endpoint, database and read-only login. You can rotate the password at any time.
| Tool | How to connect |
|---|---|
| Power BI | Get data > ClickHouse, with the server, port and database from Settings. DirectQuery keeps it live; Import is faster for large models |
| Tableau | Connect > ClickHouse by ClickHouse (JDBC), with SSL enabled |
| Excel | Install the ClickHouse ODBC driver and create a DSN, then Data > Get Data > From ODBC |
The login is read-only, sees your certified views only, and is limited per query in time and memory. Use v_cost_summary for anything over months or years, and effective_cost as the default measure.
SELECT toStartOfMonth(date) AS month, business_unit, team, sum(effective_cost) AS costFROM v_costWHERE date >= today() - 180GROUP BY month, business_unit, teamORDER BY month, cost DESC
