How we count
The terms in your quote
Plain definitions, so the quote and the invoice say the same thing.
Cluster
Any Kubernetes cluster running the KubeOn agent, in any cloud or data center. Clusters that appear in the bill without an agent are shown but not counted.
Monitored node
A node seen by an agent during the billing period, measured as the average number running at once, so autoscaling spikes do not inflate it.
History
Every edition reads and allocates 180 days of billing on first connect. Allocated costs and saved reports stay for the life of the workspace; the raw billing rows behind them are kept for 90 days by default, and your export keeps the originals.
User
A person who signs in to UnitVane. People who only receive scheduled reports or alerts are not counted.

What sets the price
We share prices with each client, based on their requirements. Every quote is built from the same four inputs, and usually takes one business day after a short call.

- The average number of nodes running at once over the billing period, across every cluster with an agent.
- Edition
- The controls and support you need: Team, Business or Enterprise.
- Data region
- Choose your region when your workspace is created. European data stays in a European region.
- Term
- Quoted annually, with multi-year terms and volume pricing available.
Worked example: monitored nodes for a 30-day month
Nodes are averaged over time, so a peak counts only for the hours it runs.

This counts as about 84 monitored nodes, not its 132-node peak.
- Autoscaling counts for the hours it runs: scaling prod-us from 30 to 60 nodes for 6 hours a day adds 7.5 to its average, not 30.
- Short-lived clusters count for the time their agent reports.
- Dev, test and production clusters count the same way.
- Clusters that appear in the bill without an agent are shown but not counted.
- Growth during the year is handled the way your quote sets out, with no surprise charges month to month.
